Monitor out and scart auto sense....

I have just setup my Yamaha RX-V1400RDS.
TV is 32" Toshiba widescreen with 2 scarts.
DVD toshiba SD330e.
Sky box.

The amp connects to the TV via the 'monitor out' socket which runs to scart 1 in the back of the TV.
As this uses 'monitor' and not scart to scart I have to hit the A/V or EXT1 button on my remote to select this.
This is a pain.

Is there another way using scart to scart? - I expect if there is then i will need to select the audio on the amp anyway?

Help would be great.

Your TV cannot auto-switch to the receiver because the "monitor out" connection is an S-Video cable which doesn't carry the additional signalling of a SCART cable that would allow the TV to switch to it. I can't see any way around your problem, sorry

To get to my 1400's OSD I've used my universal remote to programme a macro that changes the channel to the S-Video connection, allows me to modify the receiver setup and then returns to the channel I was on previously.
