    Hi All,

    My current setup is:
    F = BR5's
    C = BR LCR
    R = BR1's
    Sub = BK Monolith DF

    Just looking to hopefully get some insight into whether swapping out the center for a Silver LCR would be a) be much of an improvement/be worth it (i'd be buying used) and b) be a good fit for the rest of the system?

    I am Running on an Onkyo SR-646

    Many thanks

    You would hear an improvement sonically as you would expect, the miss-match will create a noticeable difference, when watching movies, you will hear more information, but when watching something where the sound flows across the front three speakers, you will hear an increase in audio quality as the sound progresses across the front of the room then it will return to what you used to be used to until the audio refocuses back to the centre.

    In one way, the improvement will be a good thing, but it will also make you look towards a pair of silver floorstands in the future :).

    I was running a full set of monitor audio bx, I swapped my centre for a ma silver and to my ears it's much better than the bx centre, I would argue that it's brighter and more body to the vocals than the the bx' s ,when watching movies etc I can't say i noticed any mismatch with my front stage with the bx5's on movies etc.

    I completely agree with Shane, I have now found myself on the look out for the matching floor standers now, to match the centre.

    I took the plunge but have yet to actually configure anythig as i have moved the furniture around recently and need to set everything up as it all generally sounds blah! what has come through the centre though has been very nice (not that the BR LCR was a slouch in any respect).

    I am indeed eyeing Silver floor standers but given the price (wife wasnt even happy at my £80 bargain for the Silver centre) plus the general lack of availability

    I demoed the silver 200 and 300 floorstanders yesterday, both were superb. I'm using the silver 1 currently as bookshelf. I'll be changing!!

    Just do what I do, tell them 25% of what they actually cost. Otherwise I'd still be on, all in one systems.

    Yeah, i agree. I do like the sound from it and your description is spot on. Its just a shame i could not find one in walnut. The closest seems to be the rosenut:-/
