In the next couple of days I will be taking delivery of Monitor Audio Radius R270HD. They will be connected up to my Denon AVR - 1910.

Should I use banana plugs and if so any recommendations?

I live in Spain very close to the sea if that should have any bearing on what I should use or not use.

    Thanks.....

There is no need to use banana plugs and in fact bare wire is in theory the best connection since it has the least joints so less chance for sound degradation. Banana plugs can be good at the back of an amp where space can be limited and useful at the speaker end if you move or change speakers regularly. Otherwise you can save some money and just have bare wires.

You are absolutely right PSM1 :) less in the signal path the better but he does live near the coast and gold does not tarnish so I would say give good sound for longer.

I live near the coast too and have no issues with bare wires vanishing. Unless getting something like airloc plugs you can get as much of an issue with oxidation with the wire to plug connection.

Yes QED airloc are very good ;-) no solder.
Or just tin the ends of the speaker cable with silver solder.
