Monitor Audio Introduces new smaller MASS serie

Downsized new MASS serie is available in Midnight (blue/black) or Mist (white/grey). Stand mounted or wall mounted (MASM). Subwoofer is also new in this system, now sealed 8" vs. the earlier 10" + 10" passive radiator design which many commented as too large (wife/gf likely).

Monitor Audio clearly aims new MASS serie to compete with the likes of CA Minx Min, which is ideal as there was missing small system from their collection and this time with white/grey option too! MASS system can be heard at Bristol hifi show next month. Available March 2019!

This looks like a downgrade to the previous Mass generation both in looks as well as specs. I don’t blame them most people buy a sound bar these days as opposed to these lifestyle speaker packages. I don’t see why they bothered at all.

Yea mate i feel you, i`m not a fan of fist sized speakers either but seeing how popular example Minxes has been in Europe/US there is clearly market for even smaller speakers and they do have Radius 90 which is quite similar sized to Mass 10 from memory (both also with 4" driver), although priced higher. It`s all about having models at each size/price categories to be able to compete.

For many men wife/gf makes the final decision what speakers are coming to house, 1k£ thin soundbar or small white speakers which can disappear in room with compact sized sub. If this new serie will be on par with Minxes sound wise, i think think it could become popular.

There will be some comments next week likely as they can be heard at ISE show Amsterdam!

Can't wait for a review on these to see how they compare to the older system...
