I have a near cosmetically perfect MA GSW12 for sale. The problem is the amp has gone. I tried to get it fixed by Monitor Audio but they told me that it was beyond electrical repair and did not return it. I tested the sub itself by retrofitting a normal amp to it and running some bass sweeps and all seems to be working fine, so all it needs is a sub-amp adding and you have a very decent sub. It is in rosewood, picture to follow. I really don't know the value of it, so open to reasonable offers. Shame that MA kept the broken amp as I guess the hole in the back would affect the sound quite a lot if an external amp was used?
In theory no. The speaker itself is effectively sealed off from the bay that the amp was in. Effectively the cabinet has a double back.
