Monitor Audio & Denon

    Could anybody please help me with the following question?

    Will the Monitor Audio silver series cinema package (8i, 10i, 3i,) perform well with the denon avr-3802 av receiver?

    Oh im also thinking of buying the toshiba 36zp18b TV and the sony-ns900 dvd played. Will this all sound and perform well with each other?

    Any Help or advice is very welcome

    There is no reason why they shouldn't work well together. The Denon is a highly rated amp and the same goes for the MA speakers.

    I like the speakers but you should have a listen just to make sure that they are to your taste preferably comparing them to something else at a comparative price.

    i tried loads of different speakers , and i do mean loads, with my 3802.

    i had been using the MA baby package with their sub and a sony 940 amp.

    when i upgraded i had a budget of £2k for amp and speakers maybe a little more if necessary ;)

    any way i tried everything KEF, B&W, MISSION, CASTLE, MIRAGE to name a few.

    but none of them seemed as easy to listen to as my MA's were on the 3802,i had them all over xmas while i was trying to upgrade, i tried the silver florstanders with 3i's on the rear and silver centre.
    and really liked it.

    then i tried the 3i's on the front and actually prefered this combination.

    at the momement i have silvers across the front and 2 pairs of the baby MA's for the rear channels.

    with the view that i will put their dipoles on the rear soon.

    obviously it is personal taste and you may not like what you hear, so still demo them, but i havent been diapointed.

    the only others that i would have bought was the M&K package but this was out of my price range.

    I guess I should give my opinion!!

    As you can see below I have this set up. At the beginning I found it very good with movies ( I don't have a sub) and OK with music. I have been playing with various inter connects and speaker cable to improve the music side and am now happy with it but it took a while. What I can't say is whether that was due to the source I use or the amp/speaker set up.

    I would recommend the package but you have to pay attention to make sure that all the parts work well together.

    yeah i have to say that i changed my cable to audioquest.
    solid core rather than a stranded cable.

    alot smoother, this is somthing to bear in mind budget wise.
