I would use bx1/2 as surround backs then use the rxfx's as L/R surrounds as they would give you the diffuse sound.

Would it be overkill ? Not in my opinion,no.

Would the diffuse nature of the sound suit you,your room and the material that you play,Films,Music etc ? really, only you can say.

Any chance you can borrow some before you commit ?

Oops i meant bxfx not rx:blush: imo it wouldnt be overkill if you have space for 7 speakers.

Be aware though that theres not that many films with native 7.1 soundtracks, most films the amp will matrix the extra sound channels, whilst still sounding good it wont be true 7.1 sound.
