Mondeo speaker Q for the knowledgeable...

Lo all.
Can anyone tell me if standard 5x7's fit in the front doors of my 2000 (old shape) mondeo? I've read the forums, and I believe it IS 5x7's I need, but do just normal ones fit straight in?
I've got a popping in the left speaker, and fancy replaceing the pair, but can't spend loads, can anyone recommend a decent ish reasonably priced pair?

Oh, and how hard is it to get the panels off the doors?

Cheers all.

It's very easy to remove the door cards from your Mondeo.

Why not buy adaptor brackets from Halfords then fit normal speakers.

I got two pairs of Alpine's for £100. They were £100 a pair in Halfords

5*7 is the standard, or with a bit of modding you can get 6*9 in, i had them in my old one

5x7's should fit.

Although if it was me I would build some MDF or Birtchply mounting rings, far better than plastic.
