    Hi,

I've got a brainwave v880, updated to the latest momitsu v880 firmware (11-26-03).

I can enter custom dvi settings via the video settings menu, by pressing 9-7-1-3, but when I press enter it flashes up saying 'please wait' in the top right corner, then returns me back to the dvi output setting menu and the custom dvi settings have not been applied.

i'm trying to set the settings to the following as recommended by manowa technical support:

    HorizFreq...............45000____________VertFreq.................. 5600
    VideoWidth..............1368____________VideoHeight.............0768
    HSyncTotal...............1784____________PreHSync.................0056
    HSyncActive..............0144____________PostHsync...............0216
    VSyncTotal................0803____________PreVSync ................0001
    VSyncActive...............0011____________PostVSync.............. 0023
    HSyncPol...................0000____________VSyncPol.................0000

as that should sync up to no51, wxga setting on my HS10.

Can anyone tell me if i'm doing anything wrong here.
I just press enter, then it returns me back to the menu without applying the settings. I've tried cycling through the setting with the triangle button, but that doesn't get to my custom settings either.

    Cheers,
    Jack.

I also have the brainwave but not the HS 10
On the AVSFORUM there is a small programm (CR4V880) from Emumannen (?) to calculate the settings for the brainwave.
in the newest version the SONY HS10 is included as a standard
the free program says it can be found here (swedisch side!)

    http://www.component.se/

the output for the HS10 is as follows
    47700, 6000,
    1368, 0768,
    1800, 0072
    0144, 0216
    0795, 0001
    0003, 0023
    0000, 0000

    no guarantee!
    Joe

    Hi Joe,

I've tried the application and used the different settings it suggests, but none of them actually appear to change what the player is outputting. I just hit enter and it goes back to outputting 720p or whatever it was before i got into that menu.

I've emailed manowa technical support but just got the below reply, which also gives a direct link to the setup tool.

Here is an useful link :
    http://66.102.7.104/search?q=cache:...?TOPIC_ID=89+Sony+HS10+v880&hl=zh-TW&ie=UTF-8

The best way to set it up is:
    1) connect your HD devices to PC and adjust the best resolution with
    powerstrip.
    http://www.entechtaiwan.net/ps.htm

    2) Use v880 setup tool:
    http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=330731

    3) input the numbers in DVI customer setting
    To customize DVI setting :
    (1) Navigate to video settings, DVI output, but do not hit enter.
    (2) Press 9713 on the remote. The custom resolution menu comes up.
    (3) Change settings to whatever you want.
    (4) Hit enter.

If you have further question please e-mail us.

    Thank you
    Manowa Techsupport

Someone mentioned that custom settings were broken with this firmware, flash the 11-10-03 version and try again. Also a newer version should be out soon.
