Does anyone have any experience of buying anything from the above? They are offering the Toshiba RD-XS32 at £299 which is so much better than anyone else and sounds too good to be true.

Yes, on their "Ebay Webshop" it is 6 months but on their own site it's :nono: 12 months.

I cant see how any new stuff from them can be sold with only 6 month warranty just becuase its on Ebay. Even the manufacturers themselves offer 1 year.

They buy all the Tosh's as end of line - and presumably they buy them all from the same place. IE Toshiba ! I therefore reckon the law is 12 months regardless.

Yeah I think you are right. even if that place goes pop you will be able to send it back to Toshiba :smashin: . Make sure you get a proper VAT reciept from them.

When did they say you will you get it?

    Hi

I purchased my 36" Toshiba TV from MKA (36ZD26).

They were very helpful and I have a one year guarantee.

The TV is great, and cost me £699 - plus £40 delivery, a lot less than I would have paid elsewhere.

    Highly recommended.

They aren't the easiest place to find, they're just round the corner from me and I never noticed them. I only heard about the shop when the local paper ran a story about a load of plasmas nicked from them.

They are a real shop and you can collect from them IIRC.

They were very helpful when i spoke to them, and i also used email and they were very swift with their replies. With their Tosh costing £299 + £9.99 Del. they gotta be the best in the country. They're probably a small company, so the likelihood is that you'll get to speak to the boss a lot more often than when contacting a huge multi national. I've no experience of their customer service yet, so this will be the crunch point - EG, when something goes wrong within the warranty.
If their customer service is as friendly and helpful as their sales dept. ...i dont see a problem.

I ordered one of the £299 XS32s from MKA, delivered on time on Thursday but without a remote control
I called em up yesterday and they promised they would get one out to me early next week when they get another batch of units in (so sounds like they are getting more), but its bloody frustrating having the thing sitting there but unable to use it, I cant even watch a DVD cos you have no way of selecting out of a DVD menu without the remote :(
Having seen a post on here suggesting they were 6 month warranty items, I made the point of asking them about the product and warranty when I ordered, and was told they were just end-of line stock but warranty etc was unaffected, ie 12 months as normal. However, when I called up yesterday about the remote I asked why there weren't any Tosh warranty papers inside I was told "we've bought out the warranty on these that is why they are so cheap, we offer you a 6 month warranty through us though"
I will persue this with them next week as there is no mention of reduced warranty on the website, and I specifically asked the question when buying it and was told 12 months. It sounds like they are an honourable company though so hopefully everything will be resolved to my satisfaction, its just a tad concerning that they seem to suggest that the warranty is no longer with Toshiba, only them and only for 6 months.

There is no new model inbound until next year. Toshiba were going to release the RDXS33 - a model identical to the RDXS32 but with a 160GB HDD - but they decided against it as they thought it could potentially hamper sales of their uber machine RDXS34 available in March next year.

TBH six months is probably all you'll need anyway. The main thing likely to go wrong in these units is the HDD. Providing constant regular use 99% of HDDs fail within the first few weeks/months of operations: if they survive that they generally last much longer.

Yeh Id kinda thought that too, its most likely to fail after a few days/weeks or not for years, but its still a little concerning that if it does go wrong then I seemingly couldnt go through Toshiba themselves.

Mine arrived fine, with everything in the box. No warranty paperwork though. No matter, as i would take up any legal stuff with Tosh anyway, plus we have a solicitor in the family if MK started any funny business. I have the promise of 12 months on paper too, so i'm happy.

The machine works fine too, though all i've done is some instant recording and timer recordings off air to the HDD so far. Worked fine no probs. Only trouble i have is that the TV is crap , so i will have to go to MK for a new goggle box to make full use of the Tosh.

Glad you got yours OK, I will definitely speak to them on Monday about the warranty issue then, at first I thought it was maybe just a one-off mistake by a sales guy telling me that but Im obviously not the only one who's been told it is for the full 12 months.

Ive just spoken to them this morning, they seem helpful enough. They've got a remote on order which should come in this week, and they clarified the warranty issue with those unit purchased via the website as having 12 months warranty, so as soon as the remote comes through I'll hopefully be able to say  for MKA.
