I'm thinking about buying a JBL SCS 178 surround system (speakers with 4 ohm), and then improve it replacing the frontals with 2 JBL Xti80 speakers (6 ohm) and the center speaker with 1 ATX10 (6ohm).

Is it possible to mix speakers with different impedances? What do you think about it?

Thanks in advance for your help.

I've just bought a pair of Wharfedale Pacific evo 30 floorstanders which are 6ohm and the matching centre speaker in the range which is 8ohm so I guess the manufacturers aren't bothered.
