Very enjoyable film - not really a shoot-em-up FX laden romp. More story, less action. Excellent Anamorphic transfer and a handful of useful extras.

I thought it was a pretty average film. I thougt the story was too much like CONTACT. I'll give Depalma brownie points for making a sci-fi, not sci-violence film. This isn't an earthshaker!

This film is pants. If you want an idea of how bad this is, I started watching it on a flight to Hong Kong, and ended up watching the end of that cacky Madonna film where she has a baby with a gay bloke. Why? Because Mission to Mars was the most atrocious pile of formulaic, badly acted, plotless, witless garbage you can imagine. At least I was expecting the Madonna film to be pointless dross, and I managed to sleep through most of it - Mission to Mars was keeping me awake purely because I couldn't believe how irritatingly poor it was.

    Avoid like the plague.
