Anybody have any information on these speakers ??

I am about to purchase a Denon AVR 3802, Pioneer 43mxe plasma screen and want a fairly decent speaker package for around £400.

I was looking at the Klegg M6 5.01 Cinema Package at around £370 or the Mission M7s for £350..

    Any information would be helpfull....

The Klegg M6 package is an "All in One" amp/speaker solution which is not what you require if you are already buying an amp.

excuse me butting in, but Ian I think you deserve a mystery prize for registering a posting at 3.33 on 3/3/3. What else will be recurring?

I've called for nominations for that mystery prize on General Chat. Mind you, if someone posted at 3.33am on 3/3/3, then they will surely win - or lose, depending on how you judge someone who is posting at half past three in the morning.

Back on topic for a second! Mission M7s get a big thumbs up from me, get them broken in properly and find yourself some nice 5.1 discs.

    Alex,

Thanks for the comment, what are the best cables to use, i need fairly long cables for the rear left/right as i am going to ceiling mount them ?

Theres so many different types !!

Should i plug all the speakers into the sub or wire them into my denon 2803 ??

I'm using silver anniversary to the front 3 (biwired to l&R) and QED original to the rears. Back of my amp looks seriously groovy with a full complement of bananas.

I have my sub/speakers connected directly to the amp.

I wouldn't go silly on cables, but listening to my speakers biwired against regular wiring there was a definite improvement in SQ. I realise a lot of people dislike biwiring, I also dislike it on principle - but it seems to me that Mission speakers are optimised for biwire. Was the same listening to M71/2i.

    Thanks Alex

Any idea where to get the silver anniversary cables from (good price ..) and do you put the banna clips on afterwards, or do you order the cable made up to a required length with banna clips ??

    rsvman,

If you are buying a speaker package for £350 it is a waste of money buying Silver Anniversary cable as it is far too good and you could end up paying 35% of the cost of speakers just to connect it.

    Ian,

What would you suggest then.. i may change the speakers in the future, but do not want to rip out the old cable if needed, as some will be in the wall.ceiling, so a little bit of future proofing would not go amiss..

Are the Mission M7s speakers not very good then.. what else would you suggest for £300-400 mark..

The Mission speakers are exceptionally good value for money and if you intend to upgrade in the future but don't want to rip cables out of the ceiling it does make sense to overspend on cables now.

I got my SA biwire for a fiver a meter (Thanks Richard!) - but that was at the same time as buying the speakers. I've never had cause to complain about QED original, which is cheap everywhere. I'd ask your hifi dealer to demo with different cables, only you can say what sounds best to you.
