What's the difference between them other than price?

The M72 is a bigger and arguably better speaker, more bass, bi-wireable etc.

The M70 is smaller and discreete, cheaper and comes in a nice satin silver finish whereas the M72 comes in black or wood finish.

You pays your money and takes your choice. The wife factor come into play for me so I went with the M70's, very happy with them too.

5 Stars in recent What Hi Fi mag, although the m72 has has 5 stars in previous What Hi Fi mags too.

I've heard Both M70/2 and M70/2i and all are very good speakers, on a quality amp/CD player the M70s really do sound a lot bigger than they are, obviously the additional size of the 72s gives added slam, but at no point do they make the 70s sound poor.

One word of warning, if you purchase the M70's dont buy the official mission stand as the speaker base plate on the stand pertrudes out about 1cm either side of the speaker.

It doesn't look good, in the end I broght a very similar style stand by another manufacturer.

Looks marvellous, sounds marvellous and the wife is happy. Marvellous!

i have a pair of m70`s and have no complaints. use them as rears and they are more than up to the job. have them on brackets as opposed to stands. might be a bit lacking if you want to use them as main speakers, but for the price they are a steal.

I was so impressed with them I intend to use a set as rears with my M73s. Half the size of my Eltax and twice the slam. I forget, it's either Denon or Teac that Mission do copies of these for - almost identical (sounded the same) but about a tenner less at retail.

The M70's are fantastic. Got them in my dining room as mains!! Not good for a big room (as mains) but the sound is unbelievable!
Good for rears but I would prefer crestas or good for bedroom main speakers
