I need some surround speakers, as my old ones are looking rather ugly, and the missus wants to do-up the front room.

The ones that have been recommended to me, by Sound&Vision in Bolton, are the Mission M50 Dipole Surrounds at about £180.

My previous speakers were some boxy monopoles, and I'm somwehat sceptical as to whether I need dipoles, do they REALLY have any additional benefit?

If anyone can help me out with any of the following questions, it would be appreciated..

    1) Do dipoles add considerable benefit over monopoles for surround. (I was initially looking at about £50 for speakers, these cost £180)

    2) Would the M50s do the job, considering I don't have a SUB. (My front speakers are very bassy floor standing)

    3) Can you think of an alternative that look as good? (My amp is capable of 100w Onkyo DS595)

    Cheers
