Only if someone other than Mission is taking them.

Sounds like you are telling us that Mission won't be at Bristol. That's a shame as I like to have a good look around there whilst waiting for the doors to open opposite at the Denon demo room, which is always one of the highlights of the show.

I've just had a look at the website it does indeed seem as if Mission will be missing.

Mission & Marantz (and therefore MS) are absentees this year which is a shame but I'm sure there will other oppotunities to see M-cube this year.

I had an extremely brief demo of only 2 m-cubes v 2 Kef 2005 Mk II eggs in stereo with no woofer. I also had a brief demo of the Eggs in 5.1 mode with music & DVD.

In stereo with a CD, the Kef's were much better then the cubes - am having a proper 5.1 demo of both next week- I so much want the m-cubes to be great however going on the initial test yesterday they lacked the range of the Kef's & sounded a bit tinny for my ears. It looks as if much like the Bose the speakers are supposed to be driven from the woofer - however I think you can drive them straight from the amp as well.

After the Kef vs M-cube I will demo the MS Genies to see how they go. I was impressed & surprised by the Kefs - I don't like the looks though- they are a little large however the range of different ways you can wall mount them also count in their favour.

Are there any other rivals out there in this class - perhaps some that come in black? My room is quite small so I dont want large speakers.

Genie is available in black. The Kef always used to be so have a look around. The Mission has those bands available in umpteen colours but the colour of the chassis seems fixed.

You must listen to the Missions with the sub however as they will not show what they can do without it.

I heard the Mission Cubes at the What Hi-fi S&V show last November. Whilst i did wonder if the sub was a tad unruly, generally i was very impressed.

Given the pathetic bass response of the M-Cube sats, I just can't believe you'll get any decent imaging from them - the sub has to go far too high, IMHO. Shame I won't be able to find out at Bristol...
