Crap, this looks good
Even though i have a space left in the collection steelbook... i'll be tempted.
Off to see this tonight. As long as it's not balls (unlikely) i'll be nabbing this to go with my collection of originals. Hope it's more along the lines of the old steels rather than the naff new ones.
Paramount very rarely disappoints when it comes to treatment.
Probably the best consistency when it comes to steelbook designs and treatment.
On initial releases I'd tend to agree with you, but their recent batch of re-releases and catalogue 4k steels have been absolutely shoddy imo.
Prices for these steel books are a joke now.
£30 for a film that will drop to £15 in a couple months.
You know how it goes, it won't match either of 'em!
True dat. GP didn't really match the trilogy and RN didn't match GP, but they were all along similar lines of style and quality... unlike the 4k steels
I doubt this will drop to £15 anytime soon.
Saw this last night, little hard to really get into at times, i did enjoy it though - perhaps not as much as GP mind you. Definitely more than rogue nation.. which i don't hate, but isn't a patch on 3 and 4 imo.
Some visually spectacular scenes and car/motorbike/helicopter chases going on. Pre-ordered
Is there going to be a 2D and 3D non 4K issue of this?
Europe will definitely release a Non 4K version, Not so sure for the UK looking at the recent releases.
Personally, this is another reason making me stop buying steelbooks as much as i used to.
In that price I would have liked a 3D in with it.
There's no announced 3d release for this film as far as im aware, nor any other MI film actually.
Mission Impossible 6's 3D release is not possible and the reason will surprise you! - In.com
I not released any of the others had been made in 3D which this has.
Which others MI were film in 3D?
That's a cinematic 3d screening, in india. it's available cinematically 3d elsewhere lol doesn't say anything about any reason for 3d home release. RN had 3d cinematic options, but no 3d either - so i wasn't surprised
i could have sworn i saw Rogue nation in 3d at the cinema, but i can't find anything on it so might be talking out of my ass
Seems very silly as I read it, they fell out over a cut of the sale of glasses at the cinema so they being petulant not releasing it on disc. But they don't take money in the price of the Blu Ray costing more over the the 2D standalone.
Well at present I'll wait till the normal version comes down or a 4k in a sale. No doubt it(the steel) will probably go up in price when sold out.
Now I can put a face to you
now that's one graphic portrait
Didn't realise the article was specific to theatre viewing,
Apologies for my poor googling skills on this one
One thing i was nearly sure about was the fact that they never released M.I steelbooks with 3D.
Might be silly but i'm not surprised about the reasons why they didn't release the 3D in theatres there... Money, money money...
I still see the previous film in bargain bins from time to time here in Europe, also still available on Zavvi, so this one should also be available for a long time imo. Time will tell.

Yep, I'll just be slipping the disc into my "Ultimate" collection.
Looking around locally I can find showings in IMAX 3D but no showings in RealD 3D. I read that they tried to shoot one scene with IMAX 3D but had to reshoot and in the end just went with a conversion for the whole thing.
Just to throw this into the mix, will Paramount do a retailer specific exclusive bonus disc containing most of the special features again?
Sainsbury’s got the extra bonus disc for both GP & RN, meaning you might have to double dip to get the steel book & the special features.
Am I the only thinking of buying the amaray after the price drop and popping the disc in the existing spare tray of the collection steelbook? ??
Germany gets 2 versions.
Same artwork for their Standard steelbook 2D release, different artwork for their 4K release.
