Just been watching this on my Toshiba E1. Whilst the PQ is generally very good there is a noticeable flaw in some of the early scenes. I can best describe it as like looking through a net curtain which has very faint vertical lines quite close together. Has any one else noticed this at all?

Watched this movie this afternoon and saw the same effect. I thought the picture quality was ok but the "net" effect was definitely there, especially visible at the start and towards the end of the film.

    Cheers!

Didn't like the film on DVD so I've not seen this one but my HD DVD of MI3 has motion defect problems. Nobody else seems to have seen this. Perhaps everyone should report every defect and start an open debate on both HD DVD and HD in general. I mean everything including Sky HD and Blu-Ray. The sooner the faults are brought into the open the sooner they will be resolved.

    Construtive responses please.

    All the best

You're not going crazy, I noticed the lines on Mi2 as well, and unfortunately I also saw them on the first movie too. Mi3 is top-notch demo quality goodness though. :D

Strange thing is, when I set my E1 (or my previous player, the D1) to 720p the lines disappear - I normally have the output set for 1080i.

Why don't you guys try that and see if it helps?

Yes. MI-3 has motion defect problems. You can notice jaggies and lots of fizzing ants in the bridge scene when Ethan spots the fighter jets. However the overall PQ is rock solid.

MI-2 who cares. A lousy movie. Still feeling for buying the DVD version of it.
