I am thinking of buying the FS2AV package as I am looking for a AV solution that will have as little impact on my living room as possible.

I have a few questions for existing FS2AV owners.

    1. I understand that there is a single cable connecting the Sub to the Amp. How long is this cable?

    2. I was thinking of siting the Sub behind my TV but I assume it is not magnetically shielded so should be further away. Perhaps someone can confirm this for me.

    3. Are all the other speakers magnetically shielded?

    4. How much cable do you get per speaker?

    5. Anyone unhappy with their setup? Is so why?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    1. 5m
2 Mine behind the TV and is causing no problems
    3. Not sure, try Mission website or www.nxtsound.com
    4. Bucket loads (25m)
    5. Nope, very happy.

Centre Speaker on top of telly, Fronts on shelf in TV cabinet, Sub behind TV, Rears mounted on wall. Sounds great.

    Shirker,
I'm also interested in these speakers, and i'd like to pitch in a couple of other questions.
What amp/receiver are they hooked up to.
With having to connect the speakers to the sub is there the connections for going to 6.1 or 7.1

another good website to look at is www.flat-speaker.co.uk

    cheers

keith.. 2802 is exactly what I'm using with my fs2 set.. very good match.

mark & shirker.. pretty sure there is actually 45m of cable.. (the 25m is just for the fronts). nice that this is included in the cost.

johnski - the 6.1/7.1 setup question has come up before... have a search on the forums for similar and you should find something... basically there aren't connections for extra speakers on the sub for this.

you can either buy a stereo set of fs2 (comes with another sub but a very expensive solution)...
or buy something like mission m77ds or m7ds speakers to run as rear centre(s). these are bipolar so still match the sound phase/ style of the fs2s.

mission emailed me a pdf file on this very subject with more details including the recommendation of running the pair of speakers in serial if you only have 1 output on your amp.

Yeah. 45m of cable is probably right. I was guessing.

Mine are plugged into a Yamaha 800RDS receiver (with a pioneer DV636D DVD player)

Any chance of a copy of that pdf doc? Or is it available on the web somewhere?

    Thanks

How do these FS2AV's compare to the M72 package I'm pondering to get?

And how good is the cable that comes with the package? Are they just to start you off, or are they good enough to live by?

    Thanks.

I'll see if I can download the pdf file here... not sure of the size.

Dr Rock - according to a Mission tech bloke, the speaker cable is designed specifically for the fs2s.. you dont need to replace it... more can ordered through Mission suppliers. its meant to be a perfect match...

it is very very thin by the way(0.3mm)... takes a long time to cut cleanly without breaking a strand.

its difficult to compare them with conventional speakers since they are NXT based and inherently have a different "sound" by design, its an apples v oranges thing if you know what I mean. ultimately against standard speakers, they are better in some areas, worse in others... this will always be the case with a sub/sat style set of speakers.

they wipe the floor with previous Tannoy set if its any help...(comparable to the M72 in spec).

Dr.Rock. I've just bought the Cinema M72 package and have it connected to a yamaha AX620.
The whole thing is terrific., and the centre and rears in black blend into the room very well.
