I've been trying to get hold of the well-received (in HCC) set of the Mission FS2's locally but am not getting very far.

A local supplier has a nice set of Denon NXT speakers + sub that seems very similar to the Mission set but at nearly half the price.

HCC seem to have not reviewed this pack (yet?).

    Anyone?

I'm sure the of Denon NXT speakers + sub are rebadged Mission FS2's.
I remember seeing the Denon ones in Dixons and checked the back....they were made by Mission dor Denon !!!

How much are they by the way, because www.qed-uk.co.uk are doing the mission FS2's for around £411 !!!!

I think the Denon and FS-2AV is related, both are definately manufactured by mission, but the sub with the denon is much smaller.

Yep, the Denon's are made by Mission. They look a bit differant, but sound quality is similar. I picked up the Mission set for £400 after a bit of negotiating with SuperFi

i wouldnt buy either ,NXT Technolgy has a long way to go yet before it holds it self against normal speakers.Yeah there flat and dont take much space up but at the end of the day you buy them for sound and there not great at that.

For a cheap sub sat solution buy the Celestion AVP 100 package for £300.00 it will walk all over NXT stuff.

Can't speak for the mission branded speakers, but the Denon SCAV-F100 set is dreadful. Incredibly tinny, no midrange on the speakers and the sub is a nightmare. Unless you have the volume cranked up the sub goes on standby and refuses to produce sound till you crank it up again.

Im taking mine right back and getting some full size, all of the small systems I've listened to, with the exception of the KEF eggs, are not worth the money

The Denon NXT speakers are very similar to the Mission FS2 speakers. The Mission Sub is meant to be better and more versatile then the Denon's. The panels should be almost the same except the Mission system was designed to be used with an amp output of 100-125 watts/channel whereas the Denon outputs 25 watts/channel.

I personally think the FS2's are great, the sound is all-enveloping and the bass from the system as a whole very good. I don't recall the speakers being tinny in any way.

I think it would be best for you to get a preview session. Most retailres sell both systems nowadays but you would be better off going to a specialist hi-fi shop where you can listen to them in a proper sound room. As mentioned before, the FS2 is going down in price and at £400-500 represents excellent value for money.

More reviews of both systems on the link below.
