I currently have a set of Sony pascal speakers running off a Sony STRDB940 amp but I am not very happy with them and am thinking about upgrading these for the mission fs2-av. I only have a small living room and I am also interested in the matching stands. Can anyone give their opinions on these. Plus, I believe the stands only come in silver, will i need the silver versions of the speakers to match or does the grey look ok.

The stands will be available in grey, white and silver possibly by mid October so I would hold out if I were you.

What about the performance of the speakers. For example, one speaker at the top of each corner in a square room, i assume this would sound OK. Plus, what are the cables like, on the website it says that they can be painted over?! Is this the case.

i have a pair of the silver stands with the grey speakers and they look awesome. Also yes you can paint over the cable as it is very thin(but its a bugger to strip down in preperation for the speakers, very fragile, just takes patience) Also, your best off with your rear speakers more at ear level than too high up in the corners of your room for the best surround sound effects.
