I've only seem them for £199. I've got them and they're worth every penny. What HiFi? rate them the top surround speaker upto £700.
Try some online retailers as you sometimes get a bit off. QED.co.uk , hifibitz.co.uk may sell them.

Does anyone know what the mission 70ds are like? they look the same as the 77ds, but are a damn site cheaper than the 77ds.
Richer sounds are doing them 70ds for £100.

    cheers

    Tim,

I haven't heard the 70ds, but I imagine they're to the 77ds's what the rest of the 700 series is to the 77 series (if you get my drift).

ie. They're from Mission's budget speaker range (£50 per speaker isn't much).

The 77's have aerogel drivers which produce a very tight, detailed and dynamic sound, which is of a similar quality to the other members of the 77 series (which use the same drivers). The 70ds's use cheaper composite cones. That's not to say that they sound bad though. Unfortunately, one cannot be told how good a speaker is... You must hear them for yourself.

    Groan!
