Basically i have had these speakers for 7 odd years and the other day when i took the grill off of one of them i noticed a tear in the top bass speaker.

Will this hinder the sound and is there a way to repair this?

hi, yes this will affect the sound, as it will flap around, and not have a nice tight bass sound,
the best way to get this fixed is to take your speakers to your local hi-fi dealer and see if they can get it repaired, best to call them first so you don't make a wasted journey.

If your local Mission dealer cannot get you a replacement woofer another option is eBay.

Replacement parts for Mission loudspeakers show up on eBay regularly.

Thanks for the replies i will look into the cost.

Otherwise i might just purchase some new speakers.

I have put some tape on the speaker for now.
