I know you guys have probably heard this a thousand times before but what is the best way to setup my sub? its a Mission 70ase front firing 100W unit, i run it with a Marantz sr4300 and 5 mission 70 speakers (Mission cinema 6 pack).
The trouble is i get a lot of boom, the start of "The Terminator" just rumbles with no real clarity. I,ve got crossover at about 80Hz as the sats bottom out at 80Hz and the vol at about 40% (0db on amp setup. It sits right next to the wall next to the TV.
Am i just expecting too much from such a cheap sub or can i remedy the boom by pointing the driver a certain way or tweaking the vol etc?????

P.S. I've got a pretty cheapy cable feeding it, could an expensive cable help?
