I've a strange problem in that some channels seems to be missing from the sky box, in particular ones such as IVT2, ITV4, MORE4, etc but not ITV2+1 for example.

The box is fed from a communal dish and the channels are on the freeview box fed from it in the bedroom.

Sky say it's the signal but the factors don't seem to say there is an issue.

Since the same signal has them on the freeview box is this an issue with the sky box?

It's a standard sky box that's been installed for about 4yrs. Rebooting the box does nothing to bring them back, reports no satellite signal.

Is the service you have in the bedroom Freeview as you say in your post, or Freesat? If it's Freeview, this is not a satellite service like Sky, but is terrestrial - ie it's received via an aerial not a satellite dish. So, if you're receiving the relevant channels in the bedroom it doesn't indicate anything about your not receiving them on your Sky box. In this case, it may well be that the problem is due to the communal satellite dish not being properly aligned.

But if it is Freesat you have in your bedroom, fed from the same dish as the Sky box, & you're receiving the missing channels, then it does sound as though it's the Sky box which is at fault.

It's freeview in the bedroom - the communal system runs to a quad LNB but only a single satellite feed on it (1 satellite, 2 aerial and 1 radio).

No-one in any of the other flats have sky.

We do occasionally lose other channels (music ones) but if you channel up then channel back down they reappear.

It's still not clear what receiver you have in the bedroom, and what it's getting its signal from.

It will surely be the sky box modulated output (rf1 or rf2 out) plus the terrestrial channels from the communal aerial connected to rfin on the sky box.

Your communal aerial versus his dish; his Freeview receiver versus Freesat - it's too complicated for me.:D
