Anyone remember that 'mirror' TV in the bathroom last year? Would it be possible to do the same with a plasma in the lounge? So that when its switched off, you get a nice large, landscape mirror over the fireplace, and when its switched on, you see the plasma picture?
It should indeed be acheiveable. I'm expecting to see a housing for a 42" plasma around CEDIA Uk this year, designed for wet environments. If you give me a shout nearer the show (June) I'll see what I can find out for you.
We have LCDs up to 30" that turn into mirrors when turned off. Not on our sites but I could get some info over to you...
Can't find what I was looking for but it's basically exactly as it sounds - a TFT panel that becomes a mirror when you turn it off! We do 6" and up for bathrooms, clubs etc, 30" 16:9 for large advertising and home use, and various in between! Usually works out about 5 grand or so for the 30"....
Is it the Philips one ? http://www.consumer.philips.com/glo..._PUBLSECTBUSINDUSTRY_SU&productId=17HM8801_12
whats the quality of the picture like...or is it a product that offers a compromise between functional and entertainment?
Ditto. We distribute the Aquavision waterproof TV's at work (Bathroom, Kitchen, Towelrail and plasma housings and glass). It's becoming very popular the mirror glass now.
