Bought this on here last month for my brother in law who wanted to step up from his Panasonic compact.

    http://www.avforums.com/forums/arch...ale-panasonic-g3-14-42-micro-4-3-kit-new.html

Unfortunately he cannot get his head around anything but point and shoot so he now wants to sell it on.

Since buying the camera he has bought an additional battery, lens filter and camera case. He will sell these with the camera.

The camera is mint and comes with the 14-42 kit lens (also mint).

If you are reading this you will know the rave reviews this camera gets and having briefly played with it myself they are justified. I was tempted to keep it myself. However with already owning a Canon 6D, 7D, G12 and S95 my wife thinks I have enough cameras (I guess she has a point).

    Review here

Panasonic DMC-G3 In-depth Review: Digital Photography Review

It has had very little use - I think he tried it out on a couple of occasions and then put it back in the box. The three year extended Panasonic warranty is in my name and if not transferable I will always be willing to act for the buyer if there ever was a problem.

Obviously he wants to recover as much of his money as he can. The filter, battery and case cost him over £65 and like the camera are all mint.

So he is looking for offers very near £285 inc rmsd. The cheapest I can find new is £289 without the three year warranty, case, extra battery and filter so I feel this is a fair price.

    Any questions please ask.

This camera is immaculate, the filter, spare battery and case never used and you can no longer get the extended Panasonic 3 year warranty. Does no-one want to make a reasonable offer?

That's coming off your original buying price....the case, filter and battery can be had at not much more.

    :facepalm:Dream on

The total cost of all this kit is over £350. All but the camera is new and unused. The camera is only two months old and has taken only a handful of photographs.

The filter, case and battery cost over £65.

I don't consider a drop of over £150 in value in just two months is acceptable.

Thanks for the laugh but no way.

Anyone like to make a sensible offer.

I am interested but £285 is only £5 less than it has cost you (£225 + £65) and the warranty isn't transferrable. I'm not interested in a case and filter so the only extra I'd want to pay for is the battery. My offer would be around the £200 mark as well.

I'm not posting this to annoy you just explaining my thinking (and probably a lot of others as well).

Just to get this clear once and for all.

This camera belongs to my brother in law. He bought the case, battery and filter new and they cost him a fair bit more more than £65. They have not been used. I put £65 as a ball park figure the actual cost was nearer £75 but let us not split hairs. The total package new would cost you nearly £365.

I paid £220 (I think) including delivery which was a very good price for a camera which even now I cannot find for less than £289 new and that is a grey import with a non Panasonic warranty. I do not consider that the camera should have reduced in value at all by being a month older than when I bought it. It is still excellent value. I have also promised to act as a go between should the buyer ever need support under warranty so although technically this is not transferable the buyer gets the benefit of nearly three years Panasonic warranty.

If people want this camera as a grey import with a seller warranty then go and buy one for £289. If you want a virtually new and unused UK sourced camera with all these extras in new condition and with the benefits of a three year warranty then make a reasonable offer for this one.

I am posting this to explain our thinking. If you disagree with it that's fine but no more low ball offers please - I will ignore them.

Bit rude. Owned and sold this camera/lens combo on here myself...i know how much it is worth. Should reiterate that if i come back with links to the kit you are adding, you would have to lower your price as it doesn't matter what you or anyone else paid for it, but the lowest trustworthy price comparison. Maybe don't be quite so sarcastic in future, it was an offer...i may have been inclined to go slightly higher.

I think if you are keen to sell it then split the package and sell the extra stuff on the side.

Hypothetically speaking, I would only pay marginally more than what you paid for the camera so around the £245 all in.

Nonetheless - allow some room for negotiation for those who are interested :)

Maybe we have a different sense of humour - did you not see the smiles?

I would add that I see nowhere in the rules that state if you supply any links that we have to reduce the price. Links are for price comparisons purposes only. They do not set any price.

My brother in law has set a price that he would like for this package. At the moment he will consider offers near to the asking price but nowhere near as low as your offer. Unless you want to raise your offer to much closer to the advertised price I see no further point in any further contact.

The problem with spliting the package is that postage costs multiply with every split. At the moment he wants to try to sell as a kit.

Thanks for the comment about £245 this is much closer to his expectation than the lowball £200 offers.

There is room for negotiation - see the original post.

Very interested in this and other models in a similar range. Would you take £230 for this ?

Will talk to my brother in law who owns this. I doubt if he will sell the whole kit this low but he might sell the camera and either the spare battery or the filter at this price. Would that be of interest to you?

Had a reply from brother in law. He feels that £230 for the camera, case and battery is a bit low. He is hoping for £250 to include RMSD for this package. To repeat myself the case and battery are brand new and never been used. The camera probably no more than 100-150 shots in total.

If you want to come back with a revised offer I will put it to him.

No Pansonic warranties are not transferable. But as I said in the original post I promise to act on behalf of the buyer if it goes wrong in the three year extended warranty and sort all repairs out with Panasonic. That's the best I can do.

    Hi Ray

Can we just confirm the package you are making the offer for please. Your offer is £250 inc RMSD for Camera, case and battery BUT no filter. Is that right?

    Hi

No problems. Just so we are all on the same page. The interest shown by Ace T above was in the camera case and battery but NO filter. My brother in laws response was £250 inc rmsd for that package. He could then easily sell the HD pro filter for about £12 - £15.

I find this difficult being stuck in the middle and having to contact him every time someone makes an offer so I will make an executive decision. You can have the lot - camera, case, spare battery and filter inc rmsd for £255. I will also include a copy of the print out from Panasonic confirming the three year warranty.

Please let me know what you want to do. I shall be going out at about 9.45 but if we can sort everything out before then and payment is made today I should be able to get to the Post Office and send it this afternoon.
