I have just watched my copy of Minority Report and for some reason I can only seem to play The Dolby Digital soundtrack. When I select the DTS soundtrack on the film menu and press the button for DTS on my remote (for the amp), I get nothing but silence. Has anyone else noticed this?

Have you listened to DTS on any other discs? Sounds to me as though you don't have dts output set up on your DVD player....mine played fine in dts, though the DD track is better.......(flamesuit on)!!!

You raised a good point. It is a very early on dvd player - first generation possibly and it may not support DTS. Somehow I thought it would not matter as I thought it would pipe the DTS score via the optical cable to my amp that DOES support it and I would be ok. Will have to sound test some other discs....

    Cheers for the thought.

Have you got DTS on the front of the player? If it is not there, then I expect the player cannot send the DTS to the amp.

Ditto - if the player does not have the dts logo on the front, then you won't hear any dts tracks at all. Time for an upgrade methinks....All todays players support dts. Try the superb Toshiba 220 - £130 from HI FI Confidential in Victoria and plays everything....though I'm sure some forum members will be able to point you to cheaper sites.
