I've got a sparky coming around in the next few days to relocate some power sockets and he's very likely to take up the floorboards and drill through joists to do it.

Now, it would be VERY handy to be able to take advantage of this and shove my component video cable for my PJ and the speaker wire for my rears along the same path while he's there.

So the question is, what's the minimum recommended distance between the two?

I had a look through a few threads already and have noted the stuff about shielding. Is there a benefit to using this even if the cables are sufficiently far apart?

    Ta.
