    Hi all.

I've started a new thread as we've got a firm date now. Matt at AV Sales has rescued me from my girlfriend birthday trauma & has rescheduled the demo for the weekend of 29th/31st June. Either day is fine for me....I'm happy to go with the concensus. I hope that's ok with all who expressed an interest. For anyone who's interested in either of these units, or perhaps seeing the AE100 with FL-D being driven by a HCPC, or indeed a Delta 410 acting as a pre-amp, this is an opportunity.

Lemme know who's interested & we can decide upon which day. Also, if anyone would like to bring along their own kit, that'd be cool :D

    Cheers,

    Mark.

I'm interested - are you planning to do it during the day, or an evening thing? Just thinking about travelling back to Herts, so in some ways an afternoon might suit best for me (but let's see what others say).
The Sunday would be best for me, FWIW.

Cheers johnny...got your msg. Have replied via email to ya. Deffo bring the Cube!

Johnm60 - Shame you can't make it. I couldn't reschedule again coz I've already messed Matt about enough I think! The forum will get a full report of the events though of course.

    Cheers,

    Mark.

    Hi Mark,

Sorry for being late responding to this, just needed to make sure I could make this new date. Yep I'm still on for this session if there's space .

Spoke with Matt this afternoon, doesn't look like there is chance of me getting a demo any earlier than this, so I am real keen to see the TW100 in action as I want to buy something very soon.

Can still bring Tosh SD510E DVD player (Macrovision disabled) to test component feed if you wish.

Have you seen the post in USA forum, someone says Epson in Germany now have a firmware upgrade available to solve the Macrovision and pixel perfect issues with this unit. Not user upgradeable though, requires special cable, so needs distributor to perform update (unless Epson start shipping new units already upgraded).

    Hi Mark

Sorry I hav not replied sooner. Hope you had a good bank holiday weekend?

I would love to come down, preferably on the Sunday, as I tend to work a lot of Saturdays, plus, you should have it looking it's best by then!

Let me know if the Sunday is cool?

I'd be interested in coming to, if you'll have me. :)

Either day is fine with me, I'll fit in with everyone else. I am going to buy an AE100 in the next couple of months but have yet to see one. It would be great to see it driven by a HCPC (as mine will be) and possibly see the benefit a HOYA filter would give me.

    Hi,
I'm interested in this, where exactly are you? I could bring along my Philips 962SA PAL/NTSC progressive SACD DVD player (assuming it's arrived by then!).

    Cheers,
    Andy.

    That's more like it :D

Thanks for the interest everyone. I'm edging towards having the shootout on the Sunday as it would give me a chance to configure the TW100 properly with my HCPC. If everyone can make that day, that'd be ace. The current numbers are probably about right as my HC room couldn't cope with many more!

It'd be great to have a progressive scan DVD player there on the day...either Nelson's Tosh or Samir's Denon would be cool. It's the one thing I couldn't test against the ProV in my recent thrashing of that box, so would be something I'd be particularly interested in seeing. Also, If anyone has any Superbit discs, feel free to bring 'em along!

Should be a good day. We'll be able to compare the TW100 and AE100 with just about every popular input...HCPC / ProV / Component etc.

I'll send out details of directions & times etc over the next few days. I can probably do the odd pick-up from our local train station if needed...Charlbury (Oxfordshire) is the closest.

    Cheers

    Mark.

Kane - Hi mate. yep, spent the weekend playing around with the ProV...and watching Episode 2...again :D

I too would love to catch a lift from the London/Kent area? Of course I'd share the petrol money too and get the driver a pint (only one of course)!

Please PM me if anyone can oblige?

If anyone could bring a component -> VGA convertor along to this I'd appreciate it to see what a progressive scan DVD player looks like through the VGA port..

The current UK stock is not shipping with the upgraded firmware - we have been told that it will be available to us on DVD disc to send out to customers as a 'no cost' upgrade; though as you say I had understood it would have to be downloaded via PC and a serial cable.

I believe the PAL software is in final Beta testing in France and even if it requires a serial cable we should be able to send one out with the software and then ask our customers to send to cable back.

    Best regards

    Joe

    Hi all,

I think the best date would be Sunday 30th June, starting early afternoon ish. Hope everyone can make that. If everyone who definitely wants to come can let me know, I'll send out directions & stuff. If anyone has a DVI cable, please let me know! Otherwise, I'll buy one.

    Cheers,

    Mark.

Put me down as a definite (as long as England won't be playing!).. I'll bring my Philips 962SA along and if anyone does have a component -> VGA transcoder that would be great!

    Cheers

    Yup I'm still in. :)

Due to work I may not be able to stay for very long, but it will be worth it if only to see the AE100 for the first time.

    Hi Mark,

    I'm still ok for the 30th :)

I can bring my Tosh DVD if you like, although it doesn't do PAL progressive.

Can also bring 4 megapixel digital slr for screenshots too. Never tried this before, but we can give it a try if anyone's interested.

    Joe,

Thanks for the update on the new firmware. If it's a standard serial cable and PC that's required for user uprade then I have no problem with that, better than having to return it to point of purchase.

I have sent an email about this to Epson support, but no reply as yet.

    Hi nelson,

Is this the Tosh 510e? If so I'd really like to see this in action with the Panny, as its the combo I'm thinking of getting.

    john,

The Tosh is the 510E. Will bring it along.

Modded for auto region select, macrovision free and RCE compatible. Not PAL progressive though.

Haven't got a component lead for it at the moment, hope someone is bringing one along?

I've been talking extensively to Andrew at AV-Sales re the TW100, Panny and Sony VW11. I'm desperate for a new pj (currently running Sony VPLS900E) and would love to be involved in this. Can you include me please.

Can bring my PS2 and/or XBox if you like?

    Thanks.
