    Do they exist?

I want a basic mini hifi with cdplayer (mp3 compatable if possible) and DAB. Any ideas if they exist?

    i wonder why not

you would have thought DAB would replace the standard tuner on most mini hifis

Yes, you can now get a matching DAB/FM/AM tuner for the Teac Reference 300 system.

The tuner itself is only about £210 if I recall correctly hwich is not bad for oen with FM and AM too.
The matching amp and cd player come in at £210 and £170, although Teac offer a package deal when bought together.

too expensive and only a few people make them it would addd £100+ to a £200 mini hifi thus pushing beyond the stable market level.

Don't pure make a "half case" DAB seperate that would sit atop either a TEAC reference 500 or Denon equivelent?

Denon DM31 with half width tuner would work, or TEAC system but £££££'s you can use a an evoke1 to feed an amp as well.

Pure did make a half width version of their 601 tuner but discontinued it shortly afterwards. As I said the best value for money is the Teac Ref 300 DAB/FM/AM tuenr @£210.

HITACHI AX68D at Currys. £199 online price (7.5% voucher wheeze widely available = £191.98 delivered). Probably terrible speakers but decent looking unit. Likely to be cheaper come next sale as the non-DAB was recently half-price @ £75 (sticker prices are obviously fiction on these).

I noticed too that my local Comet has got a "Bush Acoustics" (It's a Bush but it's upmarket !) amp/tuner/CD set for £299 sans speakers but it's full width. If it had any other name it'd probably sell really well in it's chromey mirror finish too. High end looks 'circa '96 or something.

    yes

it was for the mrs so I got her just a portable DAB radio. Evoke, i think.

When we do upgrade the hifi I will get one with a DAB tuner. Surely they will be common place in a year or two.
