Ulead's DVD Movie Factory is the easiest I've come accross. It's also cheap (around £30). Allows basic editing (including adding music) and easy DVD menu creation.

    Equally agree.
To be fair Ulead improved in ver 9 and even more so in ver 10. ( Im yet to try ver 11) but a lot of folk persisted in part because Pinnacle Studio at that time was infamous for its stability issues even though it had a much more streamlined interface and workflow
I wish Ulead ( corel) would just totally declutter the GUI as it can be very easy if you like "wizards" but less so if you like some control

However I digress. The Design team for DVD Movieworkshop and Movie Factory did a better Job

MovieFactory is on Version 6 plus
    Video Studio on 11.5 plus
They are both easy to use although MF is simpler as it is a DVD making software with some editing ability ,
VS is an Editing software with DVD making ability
As such they overlap but some of us edit in other programs, then use Movie Factory mainly for creating DVD
Why not just try them as trial downloads?:)
