    Hi all
First off, forgive me if I sound a bit dumb in this post - Amps, Receivers and all that kind of thing are pretty new to me!

At the moment I have a Yamaha DSP-AX640SE AV Amplifier. I plug in my V+, 360 and DVD via 3 optical cables. I then have my speakers coming out of it and everything works great.

However, I have recently been considering getting a BluRay player which will be using HDMI. I have 2 HDMI ports on my TV which V+ and the 360 are currently using. So, here's my dilemma. Are the new AV amps/receivers that can take in 3 or more HDMI connections value for money at the moment? Also, the speakers I have just use the standard speaker cable - would the speakers work on a new amp/receiver?

I have also seen one or two photos on these forums of what looks like a really small amp. The Yamaha I have at the moment is HUGE and a bit of a waste of space IMO.

I would be willing to sell my Yamaha in order to upgrade but I really want to know if these HDMI receivers are worth it - or whether it is worth waiting 6-12 months for something else?

Most amps < £6-700 have 2 HDMI inputs except for the Sony 910 which has 3 for @ £270.

Yes - should do. What speakers are they?

I did actually mean 2 HDMI sorry - I know most have 3 ports but one is the output to the TV Doh!

The speakers are Energy Take 5.2 Nothing special but do the job for me.
