Hi guys. I am pondering on the idea of a projector but don't want to spend too much for one as I'm a student!

I doubt I can get a 1080p one so I'd like to ask a few questions about a 720p one.

Currently I have an 32" LCD to play movies on BluRay with the output of 720p or 1080i.

If I bought a projector and outputted 720p would it look better on a projector or no? It would be good for it to be on a larger screen though.

Also... I probably won't buy a screen as in the flat I'm moving to I can't put any fixtures on the walls or anything :( so what would it look like on a White window blind or a white painted wall? Cheers for any help.

Take a look at my link in my sig. That's projected onto a cheap white roller blind. It'll be fine if you can't do any more at the mo!

Is a bit of a stop gap until we have our extension built later in the year and get a proper BIIIIIIG screen when we move the living room! :)

I will probably get one second hand as I'm a student :)

Would 720p look good then? Because it looks good on my TV but I guess it would look the same, but bigger on the wall?

For a cheap budget what would be best, DLP, LCD or D-ILA?

I'd need a projector that can connect to my Xbox or Samsung HTz-310r surround sound.

Hmm so I'd use my Xbox component cable to get 720p? Wouldn't the pic quality worsen?

Well if I was using surround sound, the HDMI would go to the BluRay yes and the optical out from the Bluray would go to the amp I presume?

I'm a student too mate :D can I see your setup?

Are there no budget 1080p projectors? I'd like to just maximise BluRay playback that's all.
