Rebranding ahead of Windows 8 Release

Ahead of the release of Windows 8, Microsoft has unveiled a new look to the company logo. Its first update for 25 years.

Speaking on the Company's blog, Jeff Hansen, general manager of Microsoft's brand strategy said it's the. 'perfect time for a change in advance of one of the most significant waves of product launches in Microsoft’s history.

From Windows 8 to Windows Phone 8 to Xbox services to the next version of Office, we will see a common look and feel across that Microsoft hope will provide a 'familiar and seamless experience on PCs, phones, tablets and TVs'.

The logo has two components: the logotype and the symbol. The logotype, uses Segoe font, the same font MS use in products as well as our marketing communications. The symbol’s squares of color are intended to express the company’s diverse portfolio of products.

Click to highlight text, change font. Click to highlight image, rotate. Looks easy enough to us.
