Pay-to-Play multiplayer only - no LAN, no Local, No Internet

    ***!!!!!!!!!!!!111111111111111

This better not be true - MS have skanked up the console market and now they want to justify charging for mp on the 360 by bringing that to the PC.

Halo 2 might be the best the xbox could offer but do they seriously think people will upgrade to Vista and pay extra for mp on the PC which has infinitely better shooters.

MS are just greedy ******* and should stay out of gaming. :thumbsdow :thumbsdow :thumbsdow

Why bother with halo 2 on pc?

It is a ported console game and it will look horrifically dated when released.

if you knew anything about games for windows live, you would know that you only need a silver account to play PC games online. Silver accounts are free.
You only need a gold account if you want multiplayer achievements, multiplayer matchmaking or crossplatform gaming between PC and 360 users (which Halo 2 doesn't support anyway).
So if you don't get what I'm saying - You will not need to pay anything in order to play Halo 2 online on the PC.

Im with Guru on this, why bother playing it at all?

Its a dated Xbox game (not even a 360 game)

Its not going to look all that nice on the PC and it probably wont play all that well either. I played the first Halo on the PC and it wasnt all that good.

Yes, it was a good game when it came out on the Xbox and it was fun to play online, but I certainly wouldnt pay any money to play it again on the PC.

If they release Halo 3 then thats a whole different ball game.
    :D

Until Vista is as quick as XP (it's not like I have a slow PC), I won't be installing it for any single game anyway, and certainly not a 20 year old one, as Halo 2 seems to be.

Halo 3, maybe, if they release it within a couple of months of the 360 release, but that's unlikely, although hopefully Vista will be worth using by then.

From the screens and vids I have seen on Halo 2 on the PC version does not look just like a direct port, the graphics assets and texture resoution looked higher than the xbox version, that review confirms the fact that it has a lick of paint on the PC.

I for one have been looking forward to this, it will be a cheesy laugh!

I can't imagine it will be that good simply because the devs will be putting their efforts into halo 3 for the x360.

AFAIK, its a different team doing it though. I'd assume most of the bungie team are working on halo 3, and IIRC, a team from MGS is responsible for the port of Halo 2 to PC.
