yeah - I spotted that. Any idea of what is happening to subscribers for the standard xbox game pass? I bought a subscription last year to play Forza and hoped it would "carry over"...

not sure if it does though which would be a disappointment

Hopefully that will be cleared up tonight at the Xbox Conference. I think getting it for the new Metro would be worth it alone!

    We'll see though.

hopefully... I bought the metro game on epic recently (boo hiss) and flicking through the current library there are a few things on there worth having although nothing compelling ... sunset overdrive, guacamelee 2, void bastards. SO might see if anything new is announced before plunging in. The more interesting stuff comes later this year with Gears and Halo

There have been deals around to get 1-3 months of Xbox game pass for £1 - please remember to cancel recurring billing. Today you can upgrade remaining months to Ultimate for £1 and get another month added. Any months of Xbox gold remaining are also added in.

Also the PC games in the leak, most notably Metro Exodus, can be downloaded today from the W10 store app, assuming you have the PC Game Pass in Ultimate and your W10 PC is fully up to date with this month's updates.

Nope, Ultimate is Xbox+Gold+PC. Until today the Xbox Game Pass only supported play anywhere games on PC (e.g. Forza 4 GOW 4)

The new PC Pass (hopefully £4 pm) supports the PC games in the leaked list (e.g. Exodus - which now has its own W10 version listed in the store)

If you upgrade Xbox games pass or gold to ultimate (e.g. with the £1 offer) you get the PC pass and Exodus and others on PC, and an expanded Xbox list too. PC only users will want to stick to the PC Pass after the end of the offer so dont forget to cancel recurrence

ah - so what you are saying is that you should do the £1 offer for the first month (which is Xbox + PC) and then flip back to the PC Pass for the subsequent months at £4 - otherwise I'd be paying 11 pounds for the ultimate.

Install the new Xbox app and you can search/see the games that you get with the game pass, games on the link above seem correct.

    from the FAQ: "
When you join the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate plan, we will apply any prepaid time you have on Xbox Live Gold and/or Xbox Game Pass toward the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate plan, up to a maximum of 36 months.

For example, if you have 3 months of Xbox Live Gold and 3 months of Xbox Game Pass already on your account when you purchase your first month of the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate plan, you will have a total of 7 months of Ultimate on your account before you need to renew your membership."

will give it a try later as I have 5 months or so left on my gamepass

Pleasantly surprised to see this was part on my Gamepass Ultimate already.

Will be interesting to see how it evolves and what games Microsoft can get included

I think for £45 (first month for £1) a year it's cracking value!

There will probably be discounts on subs too.

If I wasn't so embedded into Destiny to play more of what's on it I'd defo invest. Especially for Metro.

Well for a £1 thought i would have a go, downloading Metro Exodus as i type, looks good value for money, even when it goes up to £4 a month.

as Chalky says, somewhat annoyingly that beta app seems to require the May 2019 update (version 18362.0) - also a couple of the games. Anyone an expert on how to force an update?

EDIT - I used the power of google to help myself ::facepalm::

At the moment the best deal is to get 1-3 years of gold at about £40 a year, apply to your account, then do the £1 Ultimate upgrade. Even as a PC only user this is cheaper than the beta price of £3.99 pm which is bound to go up to the full price of £7.99 before long.

    XGP viewport

Plus I think you only get the DLC with Gears 5 with Ultimate (the just announced Uplay+ sub gets all DLC but thats a huge £15 pm)

Just managed to force the Windows 10 update. Everyone is so focused on Game Pass, no one is talking about Microsoft finally having a decent PC client. Sure it's more Epic than Steam on functionality right now but this is by far the best thing they've come up with on PC.

I'm doing the Windows 10 update, damn it's slow it's moved from 84 to 88% complete in the last 10 mins or so.

I've ordered 12 months gold and I'm going to convert it to ultimate for a £1. Well worth it if you get the DLC of gears 5 as well.
Interested to see if I'll get any of the DLCs for Forza Horizon 4.

You think? After two days of using it I gave up as it would randomly decide to not launch games. I did and install on my current pc and a fresh windows 10 install with all the latest drivers, and it still messed about.

Just a thought does it need a constant net connection? Our internet has been up and down a lot of late.

Well to be fair it's still in beta. I've just tried launching Gears 4 and it worked flawlessly first time, even managed to get Game Bar launching over it. Even as a beta, you can't really deny this is infinitely better than any client or store Microsoft has had on PC until now.

without a doubt its a step in the right direction. My Steam backlog needs to be worked on. Hopefully the compatibility will be ironed out a bit more by then.
