microphone input help!

    Hey guys..i have a sony reciever and i basically wanna add a microphone to the system so i can stay stuff while music is playing..havent been able to figure it out..theres a phono port but it doesnt work when i plug a microphone into it..i tihnk its for headphones..how can i add a mic to this setup....what do i need

    You need a mic pre-amp, such as this one. It'll be mono though, so you'll need a 1xmono jack to 2xPhono to get the sound out to both speakers.

    Search ebay for used examples, you might even find a small mixing desk, with stereo outs, like this which has onboard effects (reverb, delay etc..) to make your voice sound all wacky...........

    If you're in the US, then they should be fine, although the 1st one is a bit OTT.
