Hi,
I have just purchased a cheap laptop for the odd time I need to use a Windows program, my previous laptop is running slowly and isn't capable of updating to Windows 11.
It's only got 256GB of M2 storage (no spare slot). For ease of moving data in the future I am awaiting a micro SD as there's a slot for one but wonder if file system is best?
I store music and pictures on a NAS but may consider backing them up onto the card as well as another USB flash drive.
Thanks in advance.

In general you should be using exFAT file system on the SD card, it is supported by current windows, macos, android and most linux distros. Your NAS is likely running some flavour of linux.
