micro sd card question

i have a 8gb micro sd card and i need to limit it to 4gb so it will recognise it in a device i have.

is this possible ?

Not sure what device you have, but have you tried upgrading to the latest firmware to see if it will support the 8 GB card natively? Not sure if there's a way to software limit the cards size though.

Is it possible to partition a sd card like hard drives, that *may* work if you leave the 2nd partition unformatted?

paragon parition manager. it will do exactly what you want and its free on cnet website

The card will be SDHC and your reader may not support HC so may never recognise it.
