Am confused by my sockets - 939 / 940 / ????

For a Silverstone LC11m case (HTPC use potentially HD in the future) is the following the best bet ? Will be using with AMD 3500 initially then dual core later on I guess.

Asus A8N-VM-CSM

Integrated GeForce 6150

Seen this mobo but has Radeon onboard is it as good ?

ECS RS482-M Radeon Xpress 200 motherboard

Integrated Xpress 200 graphics

Are either futureproof-ish ? Anything else better ?

(Oh, I have searched and yes this question has been asked before, but due to things moving on I wondered if anything new had come along which could change the answer.)
Thanks

If you want something futureproof then it would be better to look for an AM2 socket motherboard.

I'm not sure how much longer AMD will continue to sell the socket 939 processors.

Thanks but do AM2 mobos exist which would fit the LC11 ?

With the LC11 you have to have the PCI-e socket and PCI socket in a specific position to be useable.

The Asus A8N-VM-CSM is the only one that fits the bill that I know of (I think there was 1 other but can't recall which). If you use a PCI-e card you also need the £20 PCI-e add-on for the LC11.

The ASRock AM2NF4G-SATA2 looks the same in the pictures. The chipset isn't as good as the ASUS one but that shouldn't matter if you use a separate graphics card.

Yep, the Asrock looks to be the right layout, good spot PeteD64. (No firewire).

 Thanks guys, but that mobo doesnt have SPDIF :(
Is it going to make a huge difference over the AV8 ?
