Anyone got one - looking for something to replace my 525 which is noisy and dont play mp3's.

Need component output and scart at the same time.

Mico looks like it does the lot but never heard of the brand before.

    Cheers

Hi Steve, i have a MicoA980s that the wife uses for Karaoke!.
Considering how much they cost they are very good.
I seem to remember somebody saying the video buffer isn't very good for allowing the component and scart to be connected at the same time. Your model may have adressed this etc, ask first!.
As for the picture, well it IS a budget model. So don't expect high quality, but on a normal sized TV should look good.

You probably already know, but the Mico Celo 80 was reviewed in What Video & TV Nov issue and was very well received: "an awesome performer with movie audio...". It was judged a "Best Buy", and was awarded a 4-star and 41/2-star rating for picture and sound respectively. :)

Steve, i can only give my opinion on the A980s picture quality.
The Celo80 is a newer model, so it may have a better chipset etc.
Pound for pound, i think the Micos are superb.
Mind you it won't play Disneys "Dinosaur" for some reason. It reports that there is no disc!. Plus some discs have bad blocking after the layer change(player swapped but replacement the same). But as said before it is only used for Karaoke.
I found the "component out" to give the best picture on my projector.
For the money i don't think you can go far wrong with the newer model.
Let us know how you get on ;)
