See it for yourself...though a word of warning downloading maybe a little slow..

All done with the game engine as were the trailers for MGS2 and MGS3. Gives you a good idea what the PS3 may very well be capable of...

Also look at the MGS4 site which will be showing the trailer soon Konami MGS4 site

as far as game cinematic sequences go in gaming that is probably the best ive witnessed. even better than killzone. i loved MGS1 & 2, sons of liberty nearly made me fail my A-levels  for me its one of the best games of all time and in my top 3. ive yet to play MGS3 for some reason but may give it a blast some time before MGS4. the thought of snake being an old man worries me up but hell id rather be a 60 year old solid snake than a 21 yr old raiden, man he just sucked but he is back in MGS4 kojima said :(

just to prove to any doubters that indeed the MGS4 : GOTP sequence isnt pre-rendered its run on the game engine like hideo kojima has done for every other MGS game. i simply cannot put into words how impressed i am by this sequence, and biggest compliment i can pay it is ive been concentrating on Xbox 360 as the ps3 is many months away but this MGS4 footage has caught my attention to the PS3. basically its a hey dont forget the ps3 is coming. cant wait to own both :D

oh the link  Real Time :D

    There's another download of this at ruliweb.com - ruliweb.com
MGS4 is the 5th PS3 vid down (it's all in Korean!). Warning; the vid is around 130MB and the download speed was around 56kbps when I used it. Still, it's pretty ggod quality. There are plenty of others to see too. :smashin:

Exactly the same as me! Ive got a pretty fast PC, X800 Pro G card etc etc, but this looks AMAZING.
I really want a PS3, not gona bother with the 360 as its only a little bit better than my current PC set up.

I'm certainly expecting BIG things from the Halo 3 trailer from Bungie...whenever it appears!
Just to be clear on the MGS4 trailer gamespot.com
Love to see a vid of Kojima playing around with the trailer!

Looks good- love the particle effects early on and the art direction/movie camera style.

I think I have seen better graphics around, certainly for a cut-scene especially, but this is up there with the Gears of Wars & Ghost Recons (360), and the killzones & warhawks (PS3).

Now we need to see some in-game footage.

Hideo Kojima went on to play around with the debug menu making various changes to the trailer in real time. There's a pic Kikizo
Expect the game to look better on its release. Also take note that the trailer (on a PS3 dev kit) was running in 1080i@60fps.

No. That was a PS2 render. This one is rendered on the latest (but not finalised) PS3 dev kit. Compare the 2, then bask in the PS3s greatness over the PS2!

Wow, this was impressive. Especially the beginning FPS bit. I find it hard to imagine that graphics like that are possible. If the finished game looks anything like it I think I'll definitely be ordering one at launch (which won't be for a long time anyway!) :p

Let's hope Sony follows M$'s example and release to all territories in quick succession.....Unlike their previous schedules!

This neither confirms or denies the above, but spring 2006 it is then - but where...? :lease:

I saw this trailer at TGS and yes, its amazing, but NONE of this is in game footage.

    Keep dreaming PS fan boys!

And stop saying the PS3 is sooo much better than the 360 coz that simply isnt true.
So far no one has seen in game footage of the PS3, not even at TGS. And yet there were quite a few playable 360 games that looked really good.

Spec wise what exactly makes you guys think that the PS3 is soo much better than the 360?

Show me. Then ill beleive you.

can i ask why the hell you posted that. i've just read the thread again and there is no mention of PS3 is better than 360. no one mentions directly that the specs are better on one machine than the other. the only remote reference to this is one guy mentioning his pc only being slightly less powerful to the console, which he is correct in stating i may add. just curious as this sort of comments is troll type activity which i didn't expect you to post

Is a high-quality trailer available for download anywhere, I can only find the streaming version on Konami's site?

Im pretty sure I saw somone posting something like that! (it might have been on a link actually, sorry! )

Anyway, it just does my head in that people are saying the PS3 is so amazing when no one has actually even seen it in action!
Im sure it will be a nice machine once it comes out, but so many people are already writing off the 360 and saying the PS3 is so much more powerfull.

Still, the bottom line is, you cant tell how the console will perform or what the final graphics will be like from a MGS trailer shown at TGS!

If you read this link you will see that Hideo Kojima did a real time demo on a PS3 dev kit. Not "in game" but close.

Im not saying it doesnt look good, but this is all optimised to look as good as it can. It probably wouldnt play very well in real time.

I have no doubt that games made by Sony and close 3rd party makers like Konami will indeed look very good.
But you can bet there will some games that wont be as impressive.

The only real difference between the PS2 and PS3 are the higher resolutions. If you remember GT4 and how amazing it looks in 1080i?

Most new games on the PS3 wont be much nicer looking than that I think.
Of course the PS3 has more proccessing power and a new graphics chip capable of much more, but it will probably take a year or more of development on the full PS3 dev kit (after the the machine is released) before we see something as nice as all these videos they have been showing at TGS and E3.

Well, I see no difference in something like MGS4 "wowing" the crowds at TGS as footage and demo's of the 360 "wowing" the crowds back at E3 this year. In fact the 360 stuff shown then were enough to convince me to get the console on its launch. This trailer of MGS4 and others has done the same and I will get a PS3.
As for the real time demo shown..do you actually know it was fully optomised beyond the capabilities of the PS3?
The same goes for the 360. A game is only as good as its makers.
Oh I think there are more differrences than that. And yes, GT4 does look good in 1080i as did the trailer for MGS4 as it was shown in 1080i at 60fps.
Interestingly MGS4 isn't coming out for at least another year..
Really I see no reason to be dismissive of the PS3. It may be that because people have yet to get their hands on a game (be it still in development) that it is easy to "poo-poo"! And I do understand that arguement. Still, as a hardend gamer am I still excited by what the PS3 will offer. Of course If it does not deliver then Sony will be in deep "doo-doo"! And I'm hoping that the 360 will deliver too...I'm a little concerned that some of the games may only be at 30fps in 480p. Well, we will find out soon...just 2 months left 'til the 360's launch :D

    According to Gamespot.
PS3 does 51 billion polygon per second and xbox360 does 33 billion polygon persecond that means PS3 got about 65% more polygons then xbox360 that is quite some difference if that is true then PS3 Games should look better, but hey I have placed my Xbox360 Hopefully I will be the luckyone to get it at launch.
I remember when xbox was in the pipline and microsoft made such claims that thier xbox has more polygon more 3D sound channel and IMHO we end up with better looking games on Xbox.
