hi i have the SHERWOOD RD-8108R receiver on my pre amp out put i have no metal rca just a black cap is this why i would be getting hum from my sub.how would i fix this thank you
is it because i have no metal on my pre amp if so how would i fix this
Yes.
The metal provides the grounding.
Either buy a new RCA input and replace the damaged one yourself or have someone repair it.
Does that mean that the outer part of an RCA connection plug is a 'common ground'.
The reason I ask is that I just had 2x 3-way RCA cables delivered to use for the multi-channel in on my amp, and have found that the metal jackets on the plug (which look to be electrically common with the outer part of the connector) are so bulky that when they are all plugged in together they can touch each other.
If they are just common ground though, then it shouldn't matter?
will this work its the metal bit from another rca input
