At the Bristol show I had a good chat with Merlin about all things mains related. They seem to be top blokes.
Is anyone using there power cords?
I was thinking of giving there Funnel Web a try.
Merlin are happy for me to send it back if it does not out perform a Russ Andrews Reference cord.
    Any thoughts
    Gary

    Gary,

We sell Merlin's cables, and have excellent feedback. I use Merlin's Funnel Web mains cable on my Cyrus CD 7, and although I can't honestly say that it has made a vast improvement in sound, there is definitely a noticeable improvement with the sound sounding more "tightened up" if that's a good adjective!

Take em up on the evaluation - do the same with some RA cables - let us know what you think!

    Thanks for the replys.
Alecf I have had a good play around with the Russ Andrews range, yello, classic, and reference.
On a Tosh 900e the reference blows the others out of the water,as it should costing a touch over £100.

Before you spend too much money.

Depends on when you have to give the other cables back of course. If you decide to make your own for approx £30 - £40, do be extra extra careful & use that multimeter, as we are talking about mains voltages here.

What A/V component needs the mains lead - a power amp?

    Paul.
