There is a beta firmware that a couple of people have (V2.5) for the 568.2.
    About bloody time !!!

This includes Pro Logic IIx, they have also fixed the sub level differences between digital and MHR.

I don't know anymore than that, but thought a few of you may be interested.

And I was about to sell mine, and now don't know what to do?

If you don't need the video switching of the G68, it sounds like its a close call between the 568.2 and G68. And with all the niggling faults of the G68 (I know, I upgraded) and some peoples comments on the G68 being too bright (I see it as slightly more detailed) affecting musicallity, which the 568.2MM excels in, the 568.2MM's are a bargain.

Why are you thinking of selling?

I use mine with an external DAC for the L/R channels, a combination that is very formidable.

I have moved house and lost the dedicated cinema room, and now have a living room with all my kit, I also have a massive bedroom which I have an arcam intergrated in with cd and some monitor audio speakers, I was thinking of selling the 568.2 and replacing it with somthing along teh lines af an av32r, and putting the money into a meridian pre amp or similar.

Having said that I bought the 568.2 over the Tag DP, so I would probably regret it afterwards.

Funnily enough the guy who wants my 568.2 upgraded to the G68 and the new dvd player and wants to go back to the smoother sound of the 568.2.

So if anyone wants a cheap G68D he may have one to sell. Actually probably best to take cheap out of thaat last sentence ;)

Without knowing the details of what you're trying to achieve it's difficult to make a comment, other than that the 568.2 is a remarkably good pre-amp and DAC (for an AV processor) combined into a single unit with the flexiblity to tap into the raw digital output for future upgrades. The only other processor that I've heard of that offers the same flexibility is the Tact TCS (http://www.tactlabs.com/Products/TCS/TCS_Frames.htm) which costs considerably more than the Meridian. The 568.2 is ideal for people who want a top notch stereo system as well as a cinema system. Using a transport into the 568.2 with an external DAC gives you the best of both worlds, of course if this isn't what you're looking for then buying the av32r may be better option.

The 568.2 would be ideal as a pre amp, but I can't afford to stick this in my 2 channel set up. I will either leave it in my AV set up or replace it with a cheaper processor and add the extra money to buy a pre amp for the other room.
When everything was on the one system the 568.2 was perfect.

I already sold it Ron I am afraid, but the guy who bought it has a G68 that he finds it too lively, hence having another go with a 568.2, but there may be a chance he isn't going to keep it and he will let me know and give me first refusal. But I now have an MC8 so I will let you know if he wants to sell and get him to mail you or somthing.

    regards

    Guy
