Is this as good as the first one? Doesn't seem to be much discussion about this newly released title. I'm thinking of getting it.

The tag line of mibII is Same Planet New Scum

It should actually read Same Jokes New Film

I still like it tho but only 6/10

Tha'll make it a better film?

Mine is R1 and "only" DD5.1

    R1, R2, and R4 are DD5.1 don't know about other regions (i.e. 3)

THX is only a standard not a format.

A disc that is THX is certified to meet a set of guidlines published by Lucas Arts. The film studio submit the disc to LA pay them a wad of money and La say it is sertified allowign them to use the THX logo on the disc.

You can have THX and DTS. You can have THX and DD 2.0!

    Thanks for that Graham :)

So it's all just another money making scheme in the wheels of industry

    yes indeedy

there are even non-certifed discs that knock the socks of supposedly better quality certifed ones.

there are some pretty ropey THX discs. Aledgedly

Even though your amp isn't THX certified it will still play THX certfied discs.

Again, a THX certfied piece of equipment has been sent to Lucas Arts for approval. It makes sure the reference levels for the speakers, or the crossovers on the amp or pre-amp match the THX specs.

Another wad of money to George.

Its supposed to bring the Cinema experience into the Home. unquote!

If THX is just another industry money making scheme it would be ideally suited to Men in Black 2 which seems to have no redeemimg features apart from parting punters with their money.

^^^ I just did rent it.

Yep, great picture, great sound, great SFX, but no story, old jokes, yawn. Can't even be bothered to take a look at the second disc, I'm just about to take it back, yawn.

    Cheers

I just rented it and really liked it. Not outstanding, but worth a watch. Not exactly taxing on the old noggin' either. :)

    The musical score is exceptional.

I agree with you on TPM but I thought AOTC was fantastic. A lot more like the original Star Wars :)

Can I also add, I thought MIB was not very good. From the comments MIB II must be absolute babba

Well, despite some of the comments I went and bought it from my local shop for £23.99. I actually thought it was quite good, as MuFu says, good soundtrack and easy to watch. Probably won't watch it every week but it's worth a laugh when the family comes round and the SFX really show my system off.

That may well be true, but for the extra £7 you paid you could have bought a nice set of fairy lights and a decent pen to boot!

Still, pays your money, takes your choice :)

Imported from EzyDVD you get a free fridge magnet :)
