Any advice on memory upgrades for a K750i.

I'm getting one as a present for my son to act as an all-in-one camera/MP3 player/phone, which this model seems pretty good for.

Will any brand of memory stick be ok or should I stay with Sony branded memory? And can the phone take any size memory stick? I read somewhere that some phones won't recognise larger memory cards. I was thinking of getting a 512Mb as I reckon this should hold a reasonable amount of music and photos for a 2 week holiday.

and what about headphones? doesn't look like it comes with any as standard. Any advice on what would be a decent choice?

    Cheers

    Chris

You get SE branded earphones in the box, they aren't bad, but I'd look at the Seinheiser in-ear ones myself.

You will pay more for Sony pro duo sticks. 1gb you should be able to get for about £80 I think now. 1gb might be morew worth it, especially if your son will be taking movie footage too as well as pics and music.

There seems to be lots of cheap memory available on EBAY.

Anybody think it worth buying from there?

Unless there is an adapter somewhere you can't just plug any old head phones in, they plug in to some weird sony ericsson multi use type connector.

The K750i from Orange comes with a 64MB memory stick which is good for about 130 images.

Unfortunately the headphone connection to the K750i uses a special connector and the lead acts as the aerial for the radio. It is possible to mod the earphone lead to take much better earphones:

For a serious sound quality improvement go for the Shure E2c or even better the E3c earbuds.
