not sure that this is the right place to post, but can anyone tell me the difference between a memory stick and memory stick pro?

I've got a standard 8mb memory stick with the above camcorder but want to upgrade to 512mb if possible, but can't seem to find a 512mb memory stick, its all pro...is this compatible?

    Many thanks

Memory stick pro is a faster card than the standard memory stick and can only be used in devices compatible with the memory stick pro format. Memory stick pro are also higher in capacity (256mb or higher). The standard memory stick is limited to 2x128mb (256mb) maximum, which is why you havent seen any.

Check the instruction manual on your camera to see if it is compatible with memory stick pro, otherwise you may have to get two 256mb standard memory sticks instead.
