Someone has just bought me 2 spindles (100 discs) of memorex DVD-R blanks. The problem is that they are 16 X and I have read that this recorder doesn't like speeds above 8X. I have used memorex and verbatim 8 X discs successfully. I tried one of the 16 X discs last night and it worked but I'm wondering if I'll run into problems later and in particular are the discs likely to cause any damage to my tosh?

I also used these disc, and had no problems recording.

hey, someone correct me, but surely 16X is the max speed for these disks - they should work at any speed - If anybody has any *real* reason why these cuse probs, please speek up!!

I have used dvdspec 2(8x) DVDRs on my tosh xs32, and they seem to be ok... The only prob (unrelated??) I had was space allocation - if the video was only just able to fit on, it caused strange effects...

so just make sure it fits on, with a few minutes spare... :):)
